Candidate Registration

For the 2024 Student Government Association Election, candidates can submit their Statement of Candidacy in-person and/or virtually via scanned image to email.

Candidates may collect their petition signatures through virtual and/or in-person means. Thephysical forms can be found at the bottom of this page. Candidates must fill out a Statement of Candidacy AND​ Petition of Support, regardless if it is in-person or virtual.

 

To request a virtual Engage petition please email jec@gwu.edu with a copy of your completed statement of candidacy attached. We will respond within 24 hours with a link to your personal Engage petition. To see how many unverified virtual signatures you have please visit the virtual signature dashboard here.

The Mandatory President and VP Listening Circle is @ March 21st at 6 pm EDT.

The Mandatory Candidate meetings are:

March 27th @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm EDT @ USC Presentation Space

OR

March 28th @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm EDT @ USC Presentation Space

The Campaign Period is April 1st @ 9 am EDT until April 12th at 9 pm EDT.

​

The Election is April 11th @ 9 am EDT to April 12th at 9 pm EDT.

We encourage all prospective candidates to read and review the JEC Charter and Bylaws as well as all JEC finalized rules, in particular rule 2 which covers permitted petitioning activities, and rule 4 which cover authorized agents. As a reminder failure to read or understand a rule or regulation is not a valid defense in front of the JEC judicial commission. All prospective candidates are responsible for the actions of their agents and will be held liable for any violation they commit.
